Cambridge student off to France and Belgium with Vimy Foundation
Grade 11 Glenview Park student Jeeya Patel has been selected to participate in an international history program to learn more about the First and Second World Wars.
Patel and 14 other Canadian youth will participate in the Beaverbrook Vimy Prize, a program that takes teaching out of the classroom and into the historical landscapes of France and Belgium.
When she first found out she had been selected–after writing two essays, attending an interview, and well, waiting for the results–she says she couldn’t be happier that she took the chance of applying.
