Skilled trades and technologies youth camp comes to Conestoga College
The Skills Ontario Trades and Tech Summer Camp came to Conestoga College’s Cambridge campus this week, offering campers a week full of hands-on activities and experiences.
Students entering grades 7 to 9 can participate in workshops within the construction, industrial, motive power, service, and technology sectors—all from carpentry to birdhouse making to even culinary arts.
CEO of Skills Ontario Ian Howcroft says the camps are designed to encourage students to explore interests and options within the skilled trades industry.
“It’s done in a way that the campers are having fun and meeting other students their own age,” he said.
“They’re exploring the opportunities that they may want to consider as they go forward.”
