Local company helps boost WRPS annual Backpack Challenge efforts

As the number of families in need of help with school supplies grows each year, a local company has stepped up to help.

The annual Waterloo Regional Police Service Backpack Challenge has seen a slower take-up this summer, so it was thrilled to get a $2,500 boost from Hutton Forest Products.

For seven years, the WRPS encourages the community to buy new school supplies to be donated to families in need in the region. 

Hutton Forest Products has donated to the program for now three years, and finance assistant Araz Mardirosian says it’s a small token and such a big impact.
