Restoration of the city's oldest cemetery is almost complete

The restoration of Cambridge’s oldest cemetery will wrap up in a few days after more than a week of repairs and cleanups.

After the Blair Cemetery was transferred into the city’s care almost two years ago, it was announced that $60,000 would go into its restoration.

The city’s manager of cemetery operations Oscar Ribeiro says this restoration is a lot more than a typical routine maintenance. A lot of the monuments had either been knocked over, buried under the ground or were simply broken in pieces. 

The company behind the restoration is Memorial Restorations Inc, who’ve worked on previous city cemetery projects.
